MAFALDA MIRANDA JACINTO (Lisboa, 1989) is a performance maker and visual artist. 

As a creator oriented towards a visual language, Mafalda privileges the creation of moving images as a means to explore the surreal in reality.

Mafalda begins her artistic career at Chapitô, and later at Grupo de Teatro da Nova. In 2016, she completes her master's degree in Performance Making at Goldsmiths (UK) and then participates in PACAP I (Advanced Program for Creation in Performing Arts), at Forum Dança. Since 2013, she has been part of Rabbit Hole and, in 2020, cofounded the artistic space TRUST Collective, in Arganil. In 2018, Mafalda is one of the 13 artists selected for the Transeuropa Fluid artistic residency in Hildesheim (Germany).

Her works and collaborations have already had the opportunity to be presented in Portugal, Italy, United Kingdom, Spain, Germany and Greece.

From her creations she highlights: "Asparagus" (2016), "Crime and Punishment" (2017), "Tragedy" (2017), "Mosquito" (2018), "Sugar Coating" (2019), "Partytures for Chaos" (2022/23) and "Refuse or The Soft Manifests" (2023/24).

As a performer and creator, she has collaborated with John Romão, Cátia Pinheiro, João Estevens, Anthi Kougia, Bruno Humberto, Pedro Barreiro and, more recently, Daniel Pizamiglio and Ana Corrêa.

In 2022, she started a collective creative laboratory that ends with the informal presentation of the performance cycle "Como yo te amo".

She is currently a member of the collective space "Piscina" at Forum Dança.

In addition to her activity in the performing arts, Mafalda also highlights her first publication of visual poetry "Sugar Coating" and her work in visual arts (illustration, photography, communication design and video).

In her professional career, she has also taken on commitments and collaborations with various artistic structures, both as a producer (highlighting the Bomba Suicida structure) and as communication coordinator and designer, where she highlights her collaboration with Rua das Gaivotas 6 and Teatro Praga and, more recently, with the IndieLisboa international film festival.

Enquanto criadora orientada para uma linguagem visual, Mafalda privilegia a criação de imagens em movimento como forma de explorar o surreal na realidade.

Inicia o seu percurso artístico no Chapitô, e posteriormente no Grupo de Teatro da Nova. Em 2016, conclui o mestrado em Performance Making pela Goldsmiths (RU) e logo participa no PACAP I (Programa Avançado de Criação em Artes Performativas), no Forum Dança. É desde 2013 que passa a integrar a Rabbit Hole e, em 2020, cofunda o espaço artístico TRUST Collective, em Arganil. Em 2018, Mafalda é uma das 13 artistas seleccionadas para a residência artística Transeuropa Fluid em Hildesheim (Alemanha).

Os seus trabalhos e colaborações já tiveram a oportunidade de ser apresentados em Portugal, Itália, Reino Unido, Espanha, Alemanha e Grécia.

Em 2022, propõe-se a iniciar um laboratório colectivo de criação que termina com a apresentação informal do ciclo de performances “Como yo te amo”.

E é actualmente membra do espaço colectivo “Piscina” no Forum Dança.

Para além da sua actividade nas artes performativas, Mafalda destaca também a sua primeira publicação de poesia visual “Sugar Coating” pela editora independente “Montanha” e ainda o seu trabalho em artes visuais (ilustração - exibindo informalmente na Traça (2018) e no evento Rizoma #3 nos Anjos 70 (2019) - fotografia, design de comunicação e vídeo).

No seu percurso profissional, de igual modo, assumiu compromissos e colaborações com diversas estruturas artísticas quer enquanto produtora (destacando a estrutura Bomba Suicida) quer enquanto coordenadora de comunicação e designer, onde salienta a sua colaboração com a Rua das Gaivotas 6 e o Teatro Praga e, mas recentemente, com o festival internacional de cinema IndieLisboa.
