Como yo te amo
2022performance cycle
“Como yo te amo” was a self-organized performance cycle. An initiative co-shared by Ana Corrêa, Izabel Nejur, Mafalda Miranda Jacinto and Sofia Abreu.
Starting from a common ground, these 4 performance makers agreed on a weekly meeting in order to explore each one’s individual solo creations, supported by the commitment of the group. After 4 months of these informal encounters to develop shared practices of producing solo pieces, the group organized an evening public presentation of the final results of this process.
This collective creative process was based on the ideas of trial and failure, individual and collaborative action/ doing, and the abolishment of institutional dependency in order to create artistically.
The performative cycle was named “Como yo te amo” after a Rocio Jurado’s song.
It took place on the 19th June 2022, at an emblematic tradicional restaurant in Lisbon “O Polícia”.
Other people involved at the event, whose help was indispensable: Joana Sousa, Marta Caeiro, Maria Cristina Jacinto, Rua das Gaivotas 6, Teresa Miranda.
